Hi,
A month or so ago I shot something, in either 30p or 60i HQ.
I've got the visuals copied to a hard drive (BPAV folders on one drive, mxf files for editing on another), but the cards have long ago been cleared.
Tomorrow morning I have to shoot a bit more for the same client - - and I'd like to shoot in the same format.
Can someone tell me how to find out what I shot the previous stuff in?

Open the .mp4 file in VLC, then check the codec from the menu. It will tell you the frame rate.

Have you got the latest clip browser, version 2.6, it can tell you everything about the clip, such as the format which you want to know, plus iris, gamma, nd etc.

You can right click on the clip > then click on Properties > then the details tab and all the information you need is there.

Just saw these last two replies. Thanks to you both. I did figure it out after Adam weighed in, but I appreciate the other tips.
(and Paul, you reminded me to upgrade to Clip Browser 2.6; please see my post of a few minutes ago if you know how I can download the latest XDCAM Transfer Tool).
