I've had my camera for about 2 years and it has worked fine with fcp and today I uploaded a ton of footage, all presets same as I've always used except I did upgrade fcp but still same presets. The footage uploaded fine, in capture scratch I opened them and they work fine but when I try to drag the clips to a fcp project it says file type unknown, so I check get info on the clips and under kind it says plain text. I've checked settings and tried multiple times to upload and it still does this. The clips work fine in the project when I am done uploading, and when I open them using quicktime player, but they wont go back into fcp, any help please...

This behavior is usually caused when a system's shared cache and other temp files become over-full or even corrupted over time.

Download Onyx for Mac and run *all* it's cleaning and maintenance routines and see if this clears the problem.

If not, your problems might be deeper in which case try Disk Warrior to fix the directory and any corrupted files/folders.

If all else fails try this suite:

FCS Maintenance Pack - Maintain Final Cut Studio, Diagnose and Fix Problems, Manage Settings (http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_maintenance.htm)

Let us know which works.
