I too use VLC media player for viewing/logging. I shoot progressive though, so I don't have to worry about deinterlace settings.

Nero 9 is not only an excellent simple editor, it also have the best, if not one of the best video player around.

I like the colors of Nero better but some people prefer this player at the bottom. Never mind the fact that it's free.

I like KM Player. It plays everything like VLC. It also play DVD video_TS folder with navigations.

I use Smart Mate for DV and DVB for reviewing and orgnizing AVCHD movies on my hard disks. It is like an ACDSEE, but on videos. Easy to browse and thumb movies.

KM Player is free. It's very popular in asia. I like it better than VLC player.
