View Full Version : XDCAM Transfer 2.11 for Snow Leopard Now Available.
Daniel Goyette November 19th, 2009, 12:47 AM This message from Sony reach me tonight :
New version of XDCAM Transfer 2.11 is now posted to our support site this version supports new features of new XDCAM EX products and as well for XDCAM EX ONLY it will work under Apple Snow Leopard - Unfortunately the FAM driver for XDCAM optical HD and 422 products will not work under Snow leopard at this time and requires more development work - It will likely be until March for it, along with full support for our software on Windows 7. There will also be very soon a new version of the LOG&Transfer Plugin for FCP under Snow Leopard.

Craig Seeman November 19th, 2009, 07:04 AM XDCAM Transfer 2.11 fixes the Thumbnail issue for me.
ClipBrowser is 2.6 and on the Sony Canada site, includes the PDF Manual with the download.
Olof Ekbergh November 19th, 2009, 03:30 PM Yep it works here for me too, on my MBP 2.53 10.6.2.
I was having the really irritating thumbnail issue.
Thanks.
David Issko November 19th, 2009, 05:01 PM Using 2.11 with OX 10.5.8 importing into Media 100, I find the thumbnails open at lightning speed, so all is GREAT and that's not even with SL just yet. I will do the SL update later today. Go for it!

Damian,
Sony Canada had both 2.10 and 2.11 on their site. Are you sure you got the right one? The issue seems to be fixed in 2.11.
Brian Mills November 19th, 2009, 09:22 PM Thumbnail problem fixed on my MacPro tower. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bob Jackson November 19th, 2009, 09:24 PM Yes i can't believe it.

Hiram Yates November 19th, 2009, 10:51 PM Thank god! This fixed the thumbnail issue for me and not a moment too soon! It was starting to drive me CRAZY!
David Issko November 19th, 2009, 11:23 PM All is well with 2.11, SL and my Media 100 V1.1.1.
I am a happy person, not that I was unhappy but it's nice to know that the latest (and greatest) works together.
Phil Hanna November 20th, 2009, 05:13 AM Thanks, Daniel:

Damian Heffernan November 23rd, 2009, 04:47 PM Damian,
Sony Canada had both 2.10 and 2.11 on their site. Are you sure you got the right one? The issue seems to be fixed in 2.11.
Madness! I did see the older version but am 99% certain I got 2.11. It was strangely named though but I did check after. I'll check again when I get back to the computer.
Does it matter which version of clip browser and/or the fam driver you use?
Olof Ekbergh November 23rd, 2009, 04:58 PM It all works great for me.
Here are a few screen captures of alerts etc.
Even with warning it works.

Sony's site isn't working for me. Getting 403 errors. Looks like they're having some technical hosting funkiness. :-/
I just bought a 13" MBP and will need to be able to dump material from an EX1 in the field next week! :-p Does anyone have the installer available?

Wonderful! Thank you Daniel! Downloading them right now. I was worried for a bit. I'm travelling to Baltimore and DC for some shoots for my documentary (being Canadian yourself, you may be interested: A Past, Denied (http://apastdenied.ca)). I just bought this MacBook Pro in order to be able to dump the card contents from the camera op's EX1 and didn't really know there were some issues concerning Snow Leopard (my Mac Pro is still using Leopard right now.)
Malcolm Hamilton November 28th, 2009, 11:56 AM Would someone mind clarifying this for me? After reading this post, I've downloaded these two newly-released apps (I have an EX-1, and a MacBook Pro, by the way, and I use both Avid and FCP to edit):
- XDCAM Transfer for Final Cut Pro PDZK-P1 V2.11
and
- XDCAM EX Clip Browser v2.60
The thing I find confusing is that the XDCAM Transfer app already in my Applications folder is marked as version 2.5.1.
I'm missing something obvious here, but I'm not sure what it is. Any advice would be appreciated.
Malcolm
Damian Heffernan November 29th, 2009, 12:16 AM I checked and indeed mine was 2.10. INstalled 2.11 and presto all fixed.
The original one I donwloaded was something like that 2.5 version. Then I got the 2.10 version from the Sony site. They seem to label the zip file or downloadable file as something different depending on where you download it from but when expanded the installer certainly says XDCAM transfer 2.11.
Sverker Hahn November 29th, 2009, 03:37 AM So, is it completely safe for me to upgrade to Snow Leopard. I have 15" MacBook Pro with Express Card Slot. OK with both CB and Transfer? So the 6 months wait for Sony apps are no longer?

I'm running a 15" Macbook Pro 2.33 with express card slot, Snow Leopard and the latest XDCAM transfer and Clip Browser and it's all now working perfectly :) Couldn't be happier.
Sverker Hahn November 29th, 2009, 08:12 AM Sooo good!
Thanks, Damian.
