Has anyone shot footage with the JVC GL-V0746U Wide Conversion Lens or the 16x9 Inc. 169-HD7X-HM100 0.7 Wide Angle Converter Lens
If so - please post sample.

P.S. I searched the forum but could not find actual footage showing each/either of these.

Funny you mentioned the JVC adapter. I just had a phone call from Optical Support (a company in London) where I sent my adapter off to be examined and cleaned. I noticed what I thought was dust on an interior element and when the sun caught it, lovely little spots appeared. Kept thinking it was front element dust and cleaned it meticulously but to no avail.

It turns out not to be dust at all, rather manufacturing imperfections on an internal element. The technician told me that some of the glass is not up to broadcast standard. Well, I guess you get what you pay for.

Anyone with a JVC adapter care to look through it with a bright light behind? View it at lots of different angles from both ends. I saw what looks like loads of little dust spots.

Will be giving the supplier a call shortly with a view to exchanging the lens. If I see the same thing again, time to ditch the JVC and pick up a 16X9 Inc lens....

Cheers,

Cotty

Now I'm really confused. Got my WA back and it looks clean inside. Perplexing. Looks fine now, so maybe they didn't see the dust and cleaned it all off anyway? The apparent imperfections must be miniscule as I can't see them with the naked eye. Maybe I need a drink....

If you go to the Schneider Optics web site you'll find that Century created both a .65 wide angle and .3 ultra fisheye adapters for the GYHM100 as well as other 46mm cameras. There's samples images comparing the normal shot and those using the adapters.

Hope this helps,

Has one put a front filter for their JVC GL-V0746U?

Hi Guys,

i used a SONY VCL-DH0758 Wide Conversion Lens, 0.7x with a upsize adapter 46mm to 58mm and it works wonderful. No vignetting. the best on it, also full zoom thru.

i cut a piece from the Sony VCL and screwed on the the adapter and fixed it with little bit of glue.

i loved my 60$ Lens.
