I just got a Lacie d2 burner with Toast 9. I am running FCP 6.0.6 and have a 20GB Quicktime MOV(720p60 DVCPRO HD) I need author out to Blu Ray. I have read that some people have had problems with Toast burning out to Blu Ray. Of course I found this out after I got my burner with the copy of Toast. I know I need a plug-in to burn to Blu Ray, so I probably will just end up upgrading to Toast 10 pro anyway.
So has anyone had success burning out to Blu Ray in Toast? If so, should I set it up in Compressor as an MPEG 2 before, so Toast doesn't have to spend so much time encoding? You know how DVD SP does this where if you choose the right format in compressor, it doesn't have to encode it.
Also any thoughts on appropriate bit rate etc would also be helpful.
In addition my other option would be to burn to blu ray from parallels running DVD Architect.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Jon
