Im have some basic questions about FCP capture settings.
I filmed onto tape the following settings on my Z7U:
1080i 24p
1080i 30p

I have seen that if you use tape you should use the following capture settings in FCP:
1080i60 because the tape is not true 1080i 24p, 1080i 30p.

I have noticed that my footage is not as clean or as nice as when I filmed in 1080i 24p
1080i 30p using the CF Cards.

So, What are the best settings to use in FCP6 for 1080i 24p, 1080i 30p tape capturing
and
best importing settings for 1080i 24p, 1080i 30p using CF cards.

I just use easy setup in 1080i HDV.

Can you show us some examples between footage off the CF & tape that you don't think is "as clean." Or can you explain some more, because there really should not be ANY difference.

Only thing that comes to mind is there is a chance you're transcoding to ProRes when pulling off the CF & keeping it in HDV from tape. Although there probably isn't going to be a huge difference that is easy to see when you transcode.

ProRes might be an option. Dunno.

To really help you out, can you post photos of something off tape & compact flash to show what you mean by "not as clean or nice."?
