it's a mysterious question that i couldn't solve!

I shoot using XHA1s PAL and import to Vegas 9, the clip properties display as;
Format : MPEG-2
Attributes : 1440x1080x12
Frame Rate ; 25.000 (PAL)
Field order : Upper field first
Pixel aspect ratio: 1.3333 (HDV 1080)

when I render the video to the MainConcept Mpeg2, DVD PAL preset (25fps), i get bad quality video, with jagged lines especially when camera makes fast moves.
I render the same footage but this time with the DVD NTSC preset (29.970fps), and it plays good!!

the question is, if the camera is pal, why does it stuck with rendering in pal? Logically speaking, it should render best PAL not NTSC??!

Don't know Vegas.. but sure that Vegas default settings for PAL are ok? Maybe it has inverted fields. Or maybe the timeline you are working is set in NTSC. Or something like that

Yeah sounds very strange.... although I need to to a PAL / NTSC conversion soon so I might try in and see what the results are like.
