I was told by a friend that by using the Firestore I would be able to pull 60p out of the HD110u because of the signal being sent via Firewire. Can anyone explain how this is possible?

The fs4hd records the transport stream so if you use 480 60p thats what gets recorded.
Why did you think it wasnt possible in the first place?

The HD 200 / HD 250 will do 1920x1080 60i over firewire to a Firestore.
The HD1xx series will do 720x480 60p either to tape or to Firestore.

I don't think either camera will do 720 or 1080 at 60p. You need the HM700 for that.

hd200 records 24/30 and 60P at 1280x720. only the HD1xx doesnt do 60p at hi def. but the jvc's SD can intercut well with its HD footage if used sparingly.

Evan, the only way to get uncompressed 720 60p out of the 110 is to take it live from the Component outs via a matrox mini (what I use) or a Black Majic, Cona card type set up. The Matrox mini is very light and small and hooks right up to my laptop and runs very well.

Thanks guys, a friend suggested that it was possible to get 720/60p out of the HD110u via the Firewire port into the FS-4. Sounds like that's not possible, thanks!
