I'm looking for a very special camera for stealth recording. It would be basically just the lens with zooming capabilities. If it were possible, I could just take a lens out of an existing camera, but there would be issues of video output as well as power input and controls for the zooming.

Does such a thing exist already? Could it be fabricated easily?

How small does it need to be? You have very small hidden spy camera's (with
no removable lens or zoom support) and you have small CCTV (security
camera's mostly) and Industrial/Medical imaging camera's with some zoom or
removable lenses. I assume it needs to be cheap as well? :)

Well, I'm looking for something like a lens that is in a camcorder, but just the lens. It doesn't have to be real cheap - up to 1000 bucks I guess.

What I really need is something with a good amount of zoom like 20x or so...
