I use Premiere, AE, PS and Illustrator CS4 and I also want to begin using Cinema 4D. I primarily use AE at the moment with the other programs supporting my AE projects. I know using the Intuos with 3D apps is very common, but I can't find much info on people using the Intuos with AE or NLE's. One of the main benefits I can see for myself is controlling 2 screens with one tablet, ie. I can go from one side to the other much quicker. Besides 3D apps, does anyone have any experience or useful tips?

I have an older and cheaper Wacom tablet that I've used for Photoshop and Illustrator. It never occurred to me to try it for AE or PP, but I don't think I'd like it. However, with the Intuos4 things might be different. If it's easy to click and hold and do something with the stylus, it could work. A key consideration would be the precision with which you could make small movements. With PS, AI and AE, it's easy to zoom the screen work area to overcome a lack of precision. The same isn't really true for PP, at least not the way I work.

I use a combination of trackball with a scroll wheel and Contour Shuttle thingy on one machine and a trackball without a scroll wheel on the other. I love the HID on the primary machine but a good tablet could replace it.

Someone posted a question about using a Wacom touch screen as one screen for PP several months ago. That was intriguing but a bit too dear to try for fun. I never saw any follow up on that thread.
