View Full Version : Cheap flood reflectors that work with Lowel X1-65 weight?

I have a shoot on Thursday where I plan to use 2 Lowel X1-65s and clamp on flood reflectors for key and fill. However, I put an X1-65 into the reflector and it's too heavy for the ball joint between the clamp and the reflector. It basically will only angle down and I can't position it the way I want. There's a wingnut that's supposed to help tighten, but it doesn't tighten enough. I got these at Ace Hardware, not a pro place like B&H. I saw some reflectors at B&H but they're about 3 times the cost of the ones I got at Ace Hardware.

Has anyone tried to do this before and would Home Depot, Lowe's or another store like that have flood reflectors that would work for my application? It would be nice if I could find one that had adjustable angle, but also one that tightened enough for the weight of the x1-65 since it's so big and heavy, and of course I'd like to avoid paying high prices if I could find some that would work for a lower cost.

Please let me know, thanks.
