So canon has the ef 24-70mm 2.8 lens and I was curious if, in your opinion, this would be enough to shoot weddings, special events, etc. Do you think 70mm is enough zoom for general shooting? I know the lens on the EX1 is comparible to 440mm but i heard that is with cropping and a bunch of digital ish. I've never held a true 70mm zoom slr lens in my hand and noticed how far that really is. any advice would be appreciated.

With a letus adapter, the lens will be a 24-70mm, no manification factor here.

Thats pretty short for a wedding lens... you can use it for portrait type range but you have to be close to the subject... I'd say a 200mm at the minimum.. thats why you see lots of
wedding photogs using the 70-200mm and most have a second camera setup with the 24-70mm so they get from 24-200mm length...with L lens quality

No way to change your aperture while you are shooting with that lens on a Letus.
Thought about how you will handle that during a wedding?

The aperture to me isn't that big of a deal--you're going to want it to be pretty wide open all the time, and you just control exposure with the camera. Also, you can increase the 70mm slightly by zooming the camera all the way in on the Letus. On an EX1, I typically shoot zoomed to 77, but could go all the way to 100. You just have to refocus on the ground glass, which would be problematic at a wedding.

Many of your problems would be solved (and a few created) by putting that lens on a 5D MkII instead of a Letus.
