m2t files playback. Cineform avi do not...why? Cineform's are stretched and narrow

Mine play back just fine. What type of video card are you using? What are you computers' specs? What is the external monitor and how is it hooke up? What are you using to play the video files, etc.? You gotta provide more info to get a good answer.

System specs are:

Windows Vista Ultimate
Intel i7 920 2.67 GHZ
12 GB memory
64 bit OS
ATI HD 4800 Series
1.5 TB Raid 0 internal drive (projecct files)
1TB WD internal drive (Back up and assorted files)
2 500 GB WD drives for OS

I firewire out from pc to a JVC recording deck and then composite out to a HDTV

Image on HDTV is narrow in appearance on screen.

If I make any changes in size/scaling and (even 1 point ) the image will play back fine.
