HD cameras are pretty much the standard now and most editing software supports HD and Mac has always been rumored to be the industry standard in video editing and even graphics but DOES NOT have the ability to burn work and author it on blu ray!?!?!?!
what do all of you do with your HD footage for play back?

Most of the stuff I actually edit in HD goes to the web. I'd say half or so of my HD sourced material is either edited and delivered in SD or edited in HD and then downrezed.

I use PS3 to play HD files.

I dont do any professional work in HD yet, no one wants HD in the UK so I'm sticking to giving clients DVD's, tapes etc. until I can get a blu ray burner and blu ray discs for a good price.

Personally I don't believe BluRay will ever have the same wide distribution as DVD, so I decided to skip it all together. Some friends use either a digital player (several models available already - in Europe, some TVs have one incorporated) or a Media Center PC.

I shoot HDV 1440x1080 interlaced and either export at native resolution after editing, or downcovert to 720 progressive. Like Shaun and Jonathan, in case I work for someone else (rarely), most of the time I deliver an SD DVD, no one has asked for HD yet.

Oh, and by the way, I love the WD player and its support for the emerging MKV container. I can do chapters, subtitles, and multiple audio streams like DVDs do - DVD-like navigation is in the works. MPEG4/H.264 plays fine on it, so does XVID/DIVX.

Disc is history in my opinion, although it may hang around for a short while.

TV Shows - file based delivery to larger post house with HDCAM decks, who then master it.
Web - HD for Vimeo/Youtube HD (h.264 compression generally)
Presentations - anything from h.264 delivery to wmv
TVC's - haven't delivered a broadcast HD ad yet (have always mastered HD and downres for network delivery) but imagine it would be either mpeg-2 or mpeg-4 encoded spec depending on the network, or an HDCAM master.

GOOD input.
I personally haven't had a client ask for anything but an SD video on DVD but was kinda thinking it might be headed that way.
though it does make sense hard copies of work are dying and it will all just be emailed and downloaded... -STEELE
