Hello,

I have a project coming up that will be shot for web delivery along with a re-purpose edit for HD trade show display.

1080p30 seems like the best format as I will be doing a fair bit of slow pans and steadicam movements.

And I do not have a lot of 24p shooting experience so I do not want to use it on a job yet.

I suggested the Western Digital TV unit for the company to use at the trade show to play the footage.

My question is:

Since Blu-ray will not be involved here, can I get 1080p30 displayed properly without it being converted to 1080i?

Or should I shoot in 1080p30 and convert the tradeshow footage to 24p for television display? I use Edius which seems to handle conversions well.

I will do some testing with Edius, but I have to wonder about 1080p30 as a mode. It does not seem to have an display output outside of internet playback.

Thanks for your input.

I made some 1080 30p clips (from a EX3) and played with a WDTV in a Sony Bravia LCD (through HDMI) and looks AWESOME .....
