I have a JVC DV500 1/2" camera sitting in the closet not doing much. Occasionally, I will still get a client who needs 4x3 SD footage and the JVC does a decent job especially compared with the slew of 1/3" chip cameras (DVX100a/b)

The lens with the JVC is a Fujinon tv lens s14x7.3brm-29.

Does anyone know if the Fujinon can be mounted on the EX3?

If so, what adapters are needed?

If not, is there a list of 1/2" SD lens which would fit on the EX3?

Thanks in advance for any info u care to share.

Be well

Rob

Yes the lens will fit with the EX3 supplied adapter.

But why would you use it.

I had an SD lens for a while on My EX3 while Sony was fixing (they just gave me a new one) my stock lens.

The SD lens is really inferior in pic quality.

The Stock EX3 lens is not a $30,000.00 HD lens but it is really good optically.

olof-

thank u for sharing your thoughts.

the fujinon is a wee bit longer on the tele end 81mm vs 102mm producing a narrower dof if that were important.

anyone know of a list of "keeper" 1/2" sd lens that fit the ex3?

again, thanks in advance

be well

The lens you used on the JVC will NOT fit on the EX3 with the standard adapter.

The JVC / BTS (Philips) / Panasonic 1/2" cameras had a lens cable.

The Sony 1/2" cameras had (and have) a lens mount with hotshoe/contacts built in.

The mounts for both 1/2" mounts are different and not compatible.

//EDIT: Wow. Didn't notice this was such an old thread.
