I know this has been asked a lot......
Just shot some footage for a client who wanted the record in MFX because he has an Avid. I edit on FCP and want to use some of the footage for showreel purposes. So how do I convert the MXF files to enable editing on my FCP?

Dear Chris,

If you want to have footage for both Quicktime (Final Cut Pro, ".MOV"), and Avid, ".MXF", you will need to record to Quicktime.

Then, you can use our Mac Based Quicktime to MXF file converted to obtain MXF files.

Much more detail is included in our Flash XDR manual. This is available on-line.

Hi Dan
I do hear what you're saying and I do try to pursuade all clients to record in QT. Some of my clients are still nervous about the whole file based delivery thing and want MXF files that drop straight onto Avid. Is there an easy way to covert MXF to QT?

Dear Chris,

Our File Converter is special in that it is not a transcode, no quality is lost.

We have one direction at this time, QT to MXF, and we have only one platform for our File Converter at this time, Mac.

This will change, but these programs take time to develop.

I've been using the QT>MXF Converter and works great.

I also have clients that prefer MXF and they understand that shooting in QT then re-wrapping in MXF is not a problem.

Why don't you shoot a sample for the clients that are not sure and show them how easy it will be at their end?

Hi Mike or Dan:
Can you please confirm if the MXF File Converter application is qualified for Snow Leopard ?
