Hey guys, I've got myself and a perty little HDR-FX1 and just got ahold of an AT4073a microphone. Logically, the next thing for me to do would be to get a Beachtek DXA-6. Here's where I need some advice; what's a good on-camera shockmount and will I need some sort of bracket to go with this to clear the LCD monitor if I intend to have it flipped open? What makes and models are you all using? I'm ready to get the ball rolling! Thanks.

I don't own the Z1 or the FX1. But I was wondering if there is a way to use the same mic holder that is in the Z1.

A Beachtek DXA6 is a step in the right direction, as you can then control your levels outside of the camera, which is the way it should be.

For a bracket try the Bracket 1, as it can hold both the Beachtek and the mic shockmount. That should allow you some clearance and distance from the camera controls, so as not to introduce any handling or motor noises.

An effective and cheap suspension can be the Audio Technica AT8415, but you will need to enlarge one of the holes on the bracket so you can screw it onto it. If you fix the Beachtek to the bracket you can also use a screw or velcro.
