I bought a nock off brand lens cleaner w/my Gl2. I used it once and all it did was create more streaks. What's a good lens cleaner i can get for <$50 from B&H. Also if you could guide me in the right direction of where to buy compresses air cans locally, like at the hardware store?

I used to use those lens cleaning cloths from opticians but I have started to use a lens pen and find that it does a superior job; cost £8 from Jessops camera store.

For a lens brush I would just go with the 'General Brand" pick one you like.
I have used Edwal lens cleaner for many many years.
I have used the Kalt cleaning colth for the last 3-4 years.
Should cost you around $15.

I do not know about buying compressed air from a hardware store.
I would not do it, my lenes are worth more to me than cheaper air.

I'm a still photog who plays with DV toys from time to time. I've used many lens cleaners over the years, and ROR (Residual Oil Remover) with a microfiber cloth is the best lens cleaner I've used. Last I checked, B&H sells it. A lenspen is good if you are obsessive compulsive and need to get the very edges of the lens element or filter that you can't reach with a cloth. But use the ROR first.

We use the Bauch & Lomb disposable lens wipes that you can get from Costco. Tried the Zeiss ones but they don't work as well -- too much moistener. Under cold conditions it's slow to evaporate.

Takes off smudges nicely. For the environment we're in, we end up wiping the lens a lot. The microfiber cloths work very well but you have to remember to wash them, or you'll eventually end up putting back the stuff you wiped off.

I am able to clean my lenses as well as my monitor screens very effectively with a microfiber cloth. Not an expensive one from a camera store, but a
3M microfiber general-purpose cleaning cloth from a grocery store. It costs about $4. and is 1 sq. ft. in size. It is soft and durable and works better than a $15. one I have, that was made specially for lenses, that is only 1/8 sq. ft. I rarely have to use any fluid with the 3M one and I cut it into 8 pieces.
