Hey everyone!

I have one more question for you guys... How many
manuals do you get with the camera? I have downloaded
the "XL1s manual" from the canondv site and must say
that it is very very slim! Especially explainations of
the manual controls and other things appear to be
allmost non-existent... Are there any more manuals
in the package? If not, are there books on how to get
the best out of the XL1s?

Thanks for any info on this!

Hi Rob,

Only one instruction manual comes with the camera and it is exactly the same thing you have downloaded from Canon. (123 pages only repeated in three languages) I'm no pro at this, but I found the instructions adequate. There are not many examples of what you can achieve by using the various manual controls, but I think Canon probably assumes that XL1(S) users will have some previous photographic or video experience.

No-one on any books? What books you find a must read
for using the XL1(s)? Any howto-light-for-DV books?

Thanks!

We talked about some must-have books for DV, a while back in the "General DV Discussion" forum. Do a search over there, or browse through the older posts... be sure to check the option to show posts from the beginning (at the bottom of the page)... hope this helps,
