I'm ready and excited about the challenge.

My wife and I are wildlife videographers/photographers/writers by trade. So whatever the challenge is, you can count on seeing some wildlife appropriately incorporated into the short.

Since our next excursion (to the rainforests of Panama) is not until October, I need something to do. Actually, I have too much to do but this will expand my horizons! Besides, I will have a new HD camera in the next couple of weeks and this will be the perfect project to learn the ins and outs of our new equipment.

That's 100% my problem too, which is the main reason I set it up.

I'll try it. Will be my first attempt, and I may need some help on how to post it. I had a great idea for the first one, but saw it too late, so I'll probably go totally blank on this one. I will look up the rules for the first one and check for any changes on this one.

What exactly is DV challenge 2? I get the impression that it has something to do with DV moviemaking, but what does it require?

I missed the first challenge, partly because I tend to only read the (Sony TRV950 / PDX10 Companion) forum. What about a notice in each of the main forums? This was requested by some who missed out last time. (Like me ;) )

Count me in too. I will be on vacation in Montana that weekend, making finding time to film interesting...since I work during the week. But I always like a challenge. Seems to be the only way to get me off my butt and make a film.

I guess I fit the "Hollywood" end of the spectrum. Although I will be hard presses to find support during the week.

I'm in. I'm sure me and my crew can come up with a way to work whatever the idea is into our nice big film we're doing this summer.

(just to clairify because my reply sounded wierd when I re-read it, I'm not going to shoot ahead of time, but I do have things like a song and basic story picked out that can be modified to use the theme)

Watch out, a young gun here, possible threat. 17 years old with cam, self taught; get some varity in here.

I just got my GL2 back from repair, so I can enter this one. I just hope it works through the entire shooting. This will be my first one so I am looking forward to it!! I have nothing fancy for equipment, but I am always up for a new adventure.

Got my pdx10 months ago and, truthfully, I've been too intimdated by it to shoot much, so this will force me to give my tripod, camera, sound set up a test. Lucky for me I have the week before off to practice with the cam.
I'm clueless about how to get something online, but I need to get over that too.
So I'm in- for my own good.

New to the board and new DVX100A to use so I hereby give notice that I will either make an entry or get placed on the "Wall of Shame". :)

At least for the time being, the DV Challenge is being kept in this section of the forum. The rules thread just below this one states that the info will be posted in this section the day it happens, as it was on the last one.
Having said that, this is the sign up thread. Please post questions in the rules thread.

Aside from my regular job, I have just been handed the job of finishing a show I just left (because the other editor is directing 2nd unit on a feature) over the weekend and first part of next week. So double shifts. AND, I am leaving for Montana on the 13th. I was planning on having this all done before I left, but...

I'm signing myself up, THE DAY BEFORE THE CONTEST IS OVER!!!
I won't even start today, I'll wait until tomorrow afternoon to start shooting, and I don't even have an idea, despite the fact it was my theme. I'll do it using one camera, sticks, and myself as cast/crew. No, I won't be shooting for the cinematography prize, I just want to prove how quickly you can do this if you apply yourself. And yes, I'm busy with paying gigs and running this contest.

Plus, I'm on the wall of shame from the DV Challenge #1 and want off. :)
