Ok this is just peculiar, i am capturing from the xl2, my capture presets can be viewed here:

Now when I capture 83 minutes of video with audio channels 1 and 2, I don’t get one nice single quicktime file. I get a bunch, here is a screen shot:

Now I can play the file, Side session 2-v, and it’s fine (except for the extra frame every 4 seconds because it’s 24p, not yet reversed telecined) but I can’t play the others, I don’t know what they are anyway. The funny thing is before I captured, I named the file “side session” and that is it. FCP is putting the “2-v” on the end. I don’t know why.
So even though I try and reverse telecine one of these files using cinema tools to get 24p, it doesn’t work. It just gives me an error message:

But…… (yes there is more) I tried to just capture say 10 seconds of footage and it worked fine. I got 1 quicktime file, I was able to reverse telecine the footage and bring it in to final cut pro with sequence presets using 23.98 FPS.
Blows my mind. It’s like, if I capture a small amount of footage the process is fine, but 83 mintues and it gives me a ton of files.
???? ever happen to you? I am an apple certified final cut pro user, and this blows my mind.
Help.
