I have just recently discover your very informative group here and would like to ask a couple of questions.

I am looking to upgrade my camera equipment for use in the legal video field and have come to the conclusion that the PD170 is the camera that best fits my requirements. Specifically the XLR inputs and the time code generators. my questions are; does the 170 have the LANC input jack for use with the external controls on my tri-pod? and I find it at an incredible price at digital liquidators dot com. Have any of you had any experience with digital liquidators good or bad and how are they able to sell it so much cheaper than everyone else? Half the price of any other competitor.

Yes, the 170 has LANC

Watch out for anyone with a fantastic price. They are almost always a switch and bait operation or you will find the normal accessories and the shipping and handling will equal the price of a reputable dealer.

Save yourself some grief and buy from a proven, reputable dealer. Preferrably one who also sponsors this Community. B&H comes to mind.
