Just got done reading an article called "24P HD In The Palm Of Your Hand" by James Tocher in the Spring 2005 issue of MovieMaker magazine. He gave the XL2 a very favorable mention, especially about the results he got when doing a blow-up transfer to 35mm at Digital Film Group . He said, and I quote, " The Canon did not dissapoint." He said it fell right in between the Panasonic AG-DVX100 and it's big brother, the AJ-SDX900 as far as the results are concerned. (Without being familiar with the Panasonics mentioned, I can't personally relate to the comparison, perhaps someone out there can expound on that). He said he used fairly standard settings with 24p & 16:9 engaged. What's frustrating about the article to me was that it wasn;t as indept as I would of liked. What lense did he use, and was the 35mm watched on the big screen, etc...
Would love to here if anyone else out there has had the opportunity to do a 35mm blow-up?

Not done one but seen a few... results were excellent. As long as you plan from the beginning to do a bump, there should be no prob. That said, I dont see much application for most people. Most festivals and art houses can do digital projection now, and I dont think many of us are doing first run projects that will have a wide release on XL2s
