I'm looking to buy a camera for videography (it will also be used for other things as well) on a very tight budget.

I've been looking at the DVC60 - it's not great, but it might be the best for my budget. My questions is, how does it compare to the DVC7 and DVC15 - two of its predecesors?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Because it's newer than its predecessors, it's definitely better. Also, the DVC7 and DVC15 were single-CCD camcorders. The DVC60 is a three-CCD camcorder, much better than the other two in terms of color accuracy. The DVC60 is basically a DVC30 in the larger body that you associate with the DVC7 and 15. Hope this helps,

Thanks for that!

So considering i'm on a tight budget, and looking to get started with event videography, is the DVC60 a good bet?

Of course it is! Although since it's essentially the same camcorder as the DVC30, I'd recommend that you get your hands on both and try before you buy. The one that feels best in your hands is the right one for you.
