I've been searching through lots of websites (Sec. of State, Dept. of Revenue, etc) to find how different states handle the taxation issue of services rendered. In Colorado, we don't have any tax (except that which is paid as personal income tax) on videography ... even going as far as when a DVD is produced for a client. (in specific situations)
But we're sometimes contacted by clients (b/g) to do a wedding in another state. Because a service is being conducted (say in Minnesota, or Iowa) but I do not have a business presense in that state, are there tax liabilities one needs to consider?
I've already contacted the states where I have potential clients - and I realize the best option is to seek a professional for advice .... I was merely hoping to elicit personal experiences from the fine members of this group :)
Regards,
-Michael
