I bought a nice Marshall V-R70P 7" field monitor 2 years ago. It is very nice and has worked well as a client or second monitor with my EX-1.

I am getting the 7D, and am assuming that there is no easy way to get this monitor to work with the Canon, correct? The HD input is component only on the monitor, and the 7D only has HDMI, correct?

Is there something I am missing that will make this work? Otherwise I think I'll sell it (if anybody wants one in great shape).

Thanks,
Benjamin

There's also video out, which I assume is composite.

It seems like there must be a little converter from hdmi or composite to component. have you asked Marshall?

I have seen a couple HDMI to Component converters, but they require power, which makes it a bit of a pain, but it is a possibility.

According to Marshall, it won't work.
I had the same problem.
They suggested that I buy one of their newest monitors.

That is certainly convenient for Marshall. :-)
