Some people following this forum have kindly contacted me and asked for samples of wildlife shots. There are couple files available at my web pages

www.luontovideo.net

Click "In English" and then "Samples" and in the bottom of the page there are links to two mpeg1 files. The other is a sample of a TV-program named "Gult", i.e. "Yellow", and the other is a trailer made to market my material --the text in the trailer is in Finnish, hopefully you don't mind.

The idea is to demonstrate what can be done with the XL1/2 and with the interchangeable lenses. The samples are mostly filmed with the old XL1 and the lenses I've employed are 3x, 16x, EF 100mm macro, EF 70-200mm, EF 400mm and EF 600mm. I'll put some new material created with the XL2 at some point in the future.

Beautiful footage and nicely edited, sometimes I wish we had snow over here instead of 95% humidity

Lauri,
very nice. I am very excited of your work and this gives me inspiration to continue with wildlife filming myself!
The use of a wide variety of lenses gives the film much more variation.
The footage of the northern light (eurora) was nice, do you remember the settings on the camera for that scene?

Per, sorry to disappoint you; The aurora borealis was taken on film. I haven't seen any video camera which were sensitive enough to film northern lights. Or should I say, you do get the aurora borealis on video tape, but the result is very noisy implying the colors are not clean. (The moon rise and the swan in moon light are XL1 footages, shutter speed 1/6s, probably I had also some gain.)
