http://www.imdb.com -- Start here. Just the factts, ma'am. Who's who.

http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/ -- Breaking news. The inside scoop. Harry lives just up the road from me.

http://www.stomptokyo.com/ -- Guilty pleasures.

I at least visit AICN and Darkhorizons once a day (besides the
watchdog ofcourse).... but also:

www.thedigitalbits.com (DVD news/reviews)
www.trekweb.com (star trek news)

those 5 (including here) are the most frequent ones I can be found!

Keith, the Midnighteye.com site is great. Anyone interested in Japanese cinema should check this site out.

I also get a kick out of reading ROTTEN TOMATOES to see which films are universally loathed or are overwhelmingly hyped.

For example, Hayao Miyazaki's "Spirited Away", one of the best animated features I've seen all year. 99.9% rating. There is ONE bad review (the last time I checked) and it was some dumbass who was complaining that it didn't have enough explosions and robots.

http://www.allmovie.com/

Decent reviews - fill filmographies and interlinked.

Search on person, movie or keyword; I find it a nice research tool.
