Hi,

I know this is not related to Sony VX2100 / PD170 / PDX10 but my question is related to a Standard Definition (DV) so that's why I post here.

My question is can I use a "Certified High Definition Quality" - Sony VCL-HGA07 HD 0.7x Wide Angle Converter Lens on my DCR-TRV19 and shoot in 4:3 or emulated 16:9 ?

I currently use SIMA SLS-20 0.5x with "worth the money" result but would like to upgrade on the wide angle image quality. And I'll be able to reuse it once I move up to HDV camcorder later.

Any comment is appreicated.

if the lens fits the threads (I presume it will since 37mm is pretty standard Sony threading), yep it will work fine, and should be a superior lens with better results than a cheaper lens.

Hi, Dave:

Thanks for your comment. I'm now feel safer to order it. BTW, for the record, the correct model# is SIMA SLS-05 0.5x, the SIMA SLS-20 is actually a 2.0x telescope which I don't own.
