Since the factory supplied FS-4 belt mount isn't worth using, I made my own.

Nice bracket, John! Looks efficient, inexpensive and unobtrusive. Well done!

Note to self... No picking fights with Jon East.
Having flown my VX2100 in a pinch on my Glidecam 2000, what do you do to your spinach to make it so tasty? :)
Nice bracket!

Nice bracket!
Thanks guys... It cost me $20 for the metal and about an hour of my time to heat it up, bend it and drill the holes.
I have an arm and vest that hold the glidecam. The camera with shotgun, extended life battery and firestore weighs just over 6lbs. Combine that with the glide cam and yes it gets very heavy fast :)
I am going to paint it black when I get some time off from using the bracket.
I also purchased 14.4v 4500 mAh battery for it so it will run for hours versus the 90 minutes with the stock battery pack. I am hoping to get 5 hours of the regular batter and my custom pack.
I will take pictures of it fully loaded so you can see what I am talkin bout.

By covering up the fan, I guess you've solved the problem of fan noise. But what about the heat buildup?

Thanks for pointing that out! I didn't have a bit large enough for the hole. I am going to drill one so it will get proper air flow.

You can just drill some small holes in a circle.
BTW, nice bracket. I think I just may want to make one for myself.
What's the demension of the bracket?

I made one big hole, then routed it out. it doesn't look as good as I would like but it will work. Next time I will cut out a square hole.
I will post a picture of the lop sided hole :)
The dimensions are as follows
13 inches long X 2 7/8 Wide X 1/8 I used 3031 Aluminum, $20
You will need to machine a groove on the side so your hand doesn't rest against the side of the bracket.
I will post pictures of the bracket off of the camera when I am done.
