Is there anyway to download this codec to play with it and see what it is like?

Don't believe so, it is not a public domain codec. It is licensed to our partners.

Jan,

Thanks for the info. I realize it is not public domain.

It is possible to purchase it to use with your own favorite NLE app and if not then which NLE apps come bundled with the codec?

Thanks.

MXF file support for DVCPro HD is available so far in Final Cut Pro (from Apple), Edius HD (from Canopus) and Avid. I'm expecting Pinnacle to have compatibility pretty soon since they're listed as a P2 partner. Hope this helps,

MainConcept has already posted a DVCPRO and DVCPRO50 codec (http://www.mainconcept.com/codecs.shtml#dvcpro) that should work with Vegas and Premiere. I suppose a DVCPROHD is next and maybe by the end of year.
