For those who would like diffusion on the cheap side of life, I built a 8' x 5' (feet not inches) diffusion panel for $38.00 US.
The frame is collapsable and constructed out of 1" black pvc pipe connected at the corners with corner adapters and the entire rig is braced with a "cross section" that supports and adds rigidity to the entire frame.
The diffusion panel is white, sheer reinforced nylon that I have sown together into my 8'x5' sheet. Once I had one solid sheet I then sewed thick elastic strips to the corners of the sheet that slip over the corners of the frame. And there you have it. A large diffusion screen that is large enough to soft-light a car.
Enjoy.
