Currently a 4GB P2 card is $1700.
Prices have dropped by over 50% in the past year, and new pricing is expected at NAB.

An 8GB P2 card should be available sometime around August.


As far as a tapeless cam for under $6000, you have a few options.... no one has a fully tapeless cam as far as I know, but you could always look at JVC's 5000 and 5001, which have integrated hard disk recording options. Or, you could always look for a $5K camera with a FireStore (or equivalent) hard drive recorder.
