I just ordered the FX1 through Amazon.com from J & R Music in New York for $3199. I'm sure the price will continue to drop as time goes on, but I just had to have this unit for my next gig (5-day Band Festival) in a few weeks. As I have no need for the XLR connectors in my set-up (the audio is recorded separately and synced in post) choosing the FX1 instead of the Z1 was a no-brainer.

I really wanted to get a wide angle lens also, but after reading the very informative posts on this forum, I've decided to wait.
