Colin McDonald September 21st, 2009, 04:49 PM I don't really know, but I'm thinking when set on "high" it is similar to the "shockless off" settings of Gain and WB. There is a reference here http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xh-series-hdv-camcorders/138352-ae-steps-pops.html to using the "low" setting to try to smooth out AE bumps. Maybe it's the other way round, which might explain why the OP above found it still didn't work! The manual doesn't say anything particularly illuminating about how it works Selects the camcorder's response when you change the automatic exposure setting "YOU CHANGE?" How can you change it if if it's "automatic"? I'm even more confused now. I tried changing the settings to see if I could work out what it does, but not so far. Howard Churgin September 21st, 2009, 06:01 PM Thanks for trying. I hope someone can shed some light on this. Anyone, Anyone? "Selects the camcorder's response when you change the automatic exposure setting" "YOU CHANGE?" How can you change it if if it's "automatic"? I'm even more confused now. I think that should read "Selects the camcorder's response when you change TO the automatic exposure setting" Colin McDonald September 24th, 2009, 12:20 PM So Bill, do you reckon that the "low/middle/high" refers to the speed of the response? |
