Good Morning,

I was wondering if uncompressed capture is possible in the A version sense it does not have a serial digital interface.

can one use an intensity pro card which has hdmi, use a component converter plug and capture uncompressed?

If one can do that would it come out native 4:2:2. that would sidestep using cineform codec whcih palces it in 4:2:2 and is great for color correcting.

Is it even possible?

thanks for any information.

I remember seeing a few different posts about this, and did a search for "uncompressed" on the Canon XL H Series HDV Camcorders forum. Here's some for starters:

Good afternoon,

It appears one can do it but one must capture directly to the computer hard drive.

does than mean you could also capture native to a fs 4???

If you are capturing to hard drive and tape (as back up lets say) would the hard drive be uncompressed and the tape be hdv?

is that even possible?
