The AT897 microphone requires 11 - 52V, 2 mA typical -
a PDX10 pumps out 48V for its MIC - is it a problem that the AT897 could potentially require 4v more then the PDX10 provides?

Potentially, yes. In practicality and reality, no.
The 897 on the PDX will be just fine.

The mic doesn't "need" up to 52 volts of phantom power, it can "accept" up to 52 volts. This is to make allowances for differences in the power supply, not what the mic needs to work properly.
