alright comparades. Another questions for you geniouses. My friend has this problem that everytime he starts window xp home editon the program folder opens on startup. how does one retify this so that it doesn't open on start up?
I tried the start up folder to see if it had the program folder in there but it did not. Any ideas fellows? Thanks.

I am not familiar with the home version but in the pro version you usually end up with 2 or more profiles. Usually an all-users folder and your name folder. You may want to check to see if it is loading in start-up in all of these folders (ie. users).

Hi Charles,
Here is a good freeware startup configuration utility (it doesn't load into the system and is super tiny). This should do the trick.

Failing that you can try editing the registry.

Allmost the same as the freeware utility but try this:
start
run
type: msconfig
click: ok
uncheck: load startup items
click: ok
click: restart
If the program folder doesn't show up the next time, you have to do this:
start
run
type: msconfig
click: ok
click: startup
check: everything you think should startup.
click: ok
click: restart
Do this untill you found what was the problem.
Otherwise you have to edit the registry.
