Just like the message says. I think apple has terrible prices for Ram and just about anything else. Soundsticks (Harmon Kardon Speakers) for instance, are sold by Apple for $170 while you can find the same brand for $107 at other places on the net, if you look. Too bad you can't do that with their computers. Anyway, I am looking for generic Ram from a respectable dealer.

Lots of people seem very happy with Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/) although I haven't used them personally.
For many years I've bought RAM from The Chip Merchant (http://www.thechipmerchant.com/about_us/index.asp) and have always been happy with their prices and service.

I have 2 Gigs of Crucial RAM in my Powerbook and have been perfectly happy. It's a much better deal and carries a lifetime warranty unlike Apple RAM which only has a 1 year warranty and costs more than twice as much.

What about this one? The eigth one down from the top.
Rhett,
You are soo right about the price of Apple Ram. I don't see exactly why I should pay $800 for something I can get for $315.
Of course if it is anything like perscription drugs. Generic usually has the exact same ingredients as the brand name. I could be wrong but I think there must be some kind of government standard.
