Hi all,
I'm putting together a lighting kit that will be used for interviews and b-reel stuff. I've got a budget from work of about $1000 (give or take $100). The only lights I've worked with (I'm a novice) were a Lowel set with a chimera softbox and an umbrella.
Here's what I'm thinking - I could really use some advice/suggestions since I'm flying a little blind. I've searched/read this forum for days now and here's where I'm at:
1. Rifa softbox (55 or maybe a 66) - I really like how they open and shut, and seem to be well thought of. I'd also like an egg crate but they are really expensive for this light.
2. Two other cheap lights, maybe Britek, to work as fill and bg light. The problem I have is that the full 3 piece Lowell kits that come with a Rifa seem to be too expensive.
Can you all help with suggestions on putting something together? I'd like to be able to put gell's on the lights.
Thanks a bunch!
JL
