Took a few clips this weekend at the local marina with my XL2. I color corrected it a bit and added some glow. Still learning to use it and compose shots.

Very nice, Frank. Appreciate that you noted what post-production was done...would you mind also sharing your camera settings to give folks a bit more frame of reference about various aspects of the clip?

I actually used my to hands to block the view so I could decide the framing and composition of my shots. I noticed to get much better results by setting the camera really low so I could nicely pick up the grass and flowers blowing in the wind.

This is how I shot it. The camera was totally in it's default settings. I noticed this to give me the broadest dynamic range if I don't do any curving or color correcion settings IN camera. It gives me much more to play with in post.

I filmed in 30p, 1/60 th shutter and 16:9 using a locked 0db gain. I focused manually and set the apperture manually depending on the overexposure visible on the zebra 95%. My ND filter was set to 1/32

In Post I first leveled the highest values to as high as I could. Then I color curved to get more of a filmic look. Added som more saturation and finally did a slight glow effect.

That's it !

I must say ... it lookes SOO MUCH better on DVD ! The compression on the .wmv file doesn't help eighter ! :-)
