I don't know if I can explain this easily, but I will give it a try.

Sometimes in movie or in reality shows, you see the editor uses fast motion followed by a slow motion shoot. And during the fast motion part, there usually a sound accompanying with it. It somewhat like the strong wind blow sound, but it is artificial. Could someone tell me what this call?

Many thanks,
Eric

I know what you mean, but I don't know if there is a name for it. I guess it is just a swoosh. You could easily make the same sound with a recording device and a sound manipulation program, or you could just use Vegas or Premeire, and download a clip with the sound, isolate it from the video, and save it. That's what I do when I want a certain sound clip.

Swoosh ... some suppliers call them whooshes. Or audio logos. You can find nice cd collections of these from many of the stock and royalty free music suppliers. The Big Whoosh is one title that comes to mind. Not much to acquire ... about 70 bucks for the cd.

Thanks, I will try to look it up. At least now I know what it calls.

Eric,

If you know anyone that owns a good synthesizer, ask them to give you a white noise source run through a fast filter sweep. This will give you the sound you are after. You can then use your favorite wave editor to fine tune the speed of the sound in relation to the video you wish to use it with.

Good luck,

p.s. If you can find what you want, PM me and I will create one for you.
