So I come into work and have several tapes on my desk which I am to capture. I plug in my camera (Canon Elura 2) and I get the usual little msg in the lower right of the screen that Windows found new hardware (av/c Subunit). One second after that I get a pop up error message which states : "Device Installer Error. Windows could not load the installer for Image. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance."
Windows then brings up the "Found New Hardware Wizard" and attempt to locate and install the software for "AV/C Subunit". It cant find it and asks that you insert a disk.
This is not my computer, its a workhorse Dell 4550 that the company uses as it sees fit. Its running xp with SP2 and Im told those disks arent around anymore. It has two cards on it both with 1394 out/ins and I cant even get two different external HDs to work on any of the Firewire plugs not to mention my camera to capture.
Whats the deal?
Please.....help...............
