Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to make 24P DVDs? I have access to Avid Xpress Pro HD on a PC with a DVD burner. The test footage was captured with 24pA setting, 16:9, from a Canon XL2. I'm learning and reading along, but was hoping someone could describe the workflow until I can better understand how to accomplish this. Much appreciation for any help!

Forgot to mention that I'll encode with Sorensen. However, I'm also wondering what DVD authoring program to use - is Vegas+DVD the only program that presently supports 24P DVDs?

(I personally use Canopus procoder to create an MPEG2 with the 3:2 pulldown flag and then create the DVD in Adobe Encore.)

John-- Are you able to select 23.97 for your desired frame rate when exporting your mpeg? Everytime I do it crashes. That is either exporting fom premiere first or using procoder through premiere.

In Procoder (full application), I select the DVD target presets and choose "MPEG2 - DVD - NTSC (Mastering Quality)". I then change the framerate under the target parameters to "23.976 -> NTSC (3-2pulldown" (NOT 23.97). The interlacing is left as "Lower/Bottom Field First". Provided that the source video is progressive, this creates a 24P MPEG2 that, once burned to DVD, will play at 29.97 interlaced if necessary. My sources are always uncompressed 23.976fps progressive quicktime videos.
