Hi everyone, just wanted to drop everyone a note that the DVD master of "On Our Way Up" was finalized last week and sent to the replication house. Now we are just waiting on our 5,000 retail-ready DVD's back.
Thus, we will start shipping on March 28th.
For all you guys who pre-ordered the DVD expecting a March 11th ship date, I will fedex overnight your copy personally as soon as they arrive back from the replication house (at no additional charge). Thanks for your patience, and thanks for all of your orders!

It is a docudrama about the lives of four brothers (uh, really three brothers and a cousin) who struggled to make it out of a life of crime and violence. It was shot entirely on the JVC JY-HD10U and edited with Vegas and Cineform. In the end we couldn't be happier with the results, the HDV format was just awesome, we will never shoot DV again. Everything was shot on location in the rough neighborhoods they grew up in, it was a very interesting experience.
The DVD also includes the Producer's commentary (that's me), with lots of technical stuff about shooting with the HD10. It also includes a very funny cartoon (not for the kids though), and some bonus music tracks. The soundtrack on this thing is just awesome, especially if you are into hip hop / rap.
Anyway we think it is a great illustration of what is possible on a modest budget with HDV.
Thanks again for the support of the DVInfo community! It took a full year to produce, but we finally got the thing done!
