hello dvinfo :)

i planned about buying a dvx100a (pal) in china, called dvc180a over there because it's like half the price of what they sell it over here in austria, europe.

now my question would be, is there a difference in the chinese pal system and ours?

what about sound, would i be able to play the material, which i filmed with the chinese camera, on a austrian television?

my concern is related to the fact that in younger years, i remember having audio problems with vhs-tapes and sound...

so if anybody could give any information about that, i would be very pleased

also, if there are any chinese speaking/reading fellows here, could you please try to find out the price of the ministan on their homepage? (http://www.ministan.com)

my problem is that i am fluent verbally, but can't read chinese.

thanks in advance for any information.

I think the US is the only place that uses NTSC. Everywhere else is PAL. So it wouldn't any problem shooting and playing back in China or Australia. But if you were to try playing pack stuff here in America then you might run into problems. Hopes this helps if any.

US, Canada, Japan, lots of countries are NTSC. But something like 2/3 of the countries are PAL.

hm, I thought Japan was PAL? I guess I was wrong. Thanks Barry for making me look like an idot. :)
