Hello,

If the CCD is

1280 x 720 = 921600
1440 x 1080 = 1555200
1280 x 1080 = 1382400

is not near 1.1 Mp, but if is

960 X 1080 = 1036800 or
1440 X 720 = 1036800

may be near 1.1 Mp

in 1440 x 720 you can have more of 720P
and more of a field of 1080i hdv (1440 X 540)

I'm wrong ???

Bye
Francesco

What confuses the issue is whether the 1.1 megapixel spec is for total pixels or only effective pixels... also we don't know if these CCDs use Pixel Shift.

Hi,

maybe its just somewhat larger than 1280x720y like the old HD10 had 1280x960y chips too.

On some cameras this extra pixels can be used for software based camera stabilize function, due to moving the actual image area on the chip as required for compensating shaking.

However, most important is that it has TRUE 1280x720y resolution per each chip on the 3-Chip (CCD) solution.
