Blu-ray vs HD-DVD will be a fun one to watch. Blu-ray has superior technology, but that doesn't mean it will win.
I think next gen players will have to play both formats for a while. But I want a blu-ray burner for $400.00 as soon as I buy my new Panny hdx! ;-)

Does this mean that Apple is siding with Sony, or can they be expected to back both formats? I thought Sony hated Apple. Maybe Sony will finally sanction an OSX version of SonicStage.

Didn't you see MacWorld where Jobs trotted out Sony's (former) CEO? Regarding Blu-Ray, see the following: http://www.forbes.com/facesinthenews/2005/03/11/0311autofacescan08.html?partner=yahoo&referrer="Apple is pleased to join the Blu-ray Disc Association board as part of our efforts to drive consumer adoption of HD," Jobs said in a statement.

Most hardware providers are aligning with Blu-ray, and most content providers are backing HD DVD.
